Your privacy is our priority. Here's exactly what we store and how we protect it.
What We Store
Yearbook Studio stores only your image files and their associated metadata:
- Your uploaded photos (JPEG, PNG, HEIC, etc.)
- EXIF metadata (date taken, camera settings, location if present)
- Your layout preferences and book settings
- Thumbnails and optimized versions for faster loading
Privacy & Security
Your photos are stored securely and privately:
- Private by default: Only you can access your photos
- No sharing: We never share, sell, or analyze your images
- Secure storage: Files are stored in encrypted cloud storage (S3)
- Purpose-limited: Images are used only to create your photo book
- No AI training: Your photos are never used for machine learning or AI training
- No third-party access: No one except you and the book creation process can access your files
Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
- Manual deletion: Delete individual photos or entire months anytime from the gallery
- Permanent removal: When you delete photos, they are permanently removed from our storage
- No retention: We don't keep backups or copies of deleted images
- Your data, your control: Request complete account deletion anytime
Technical Details
Storage Location: Your images are stored in AWS S3 with server-side encryption.
Access Control: Each user has isolated storage with unique access credentials. No cross-user access is possible.
Processing: Image processing (thumbnails, exports) happens on-demand and results are not permanently stored.
Cookies: We use essential cookies only for authentication and session management. No tracking or analytics cookies.
Analytics: We collect no usage analytics or tracking data. Your behavior on the platform is private.
